More to ESD

What is ESD-Clothing?

ESD workwear is a specialized type of professional clothing that provides protection against electrostatic discharge. Conductive fibers are integrated into these textiles. They dissipate electrostatic charges and thereby protect the wearer.

ESD clothing provides protection because ESD poses a threat to operational safety and product quality in the electronics sector. ESD clothing prevents the voltage differences responsible for electrostatic charges from forming in the first place.

ESD clothing must be worn in EPAs (Electrostatic Protected Areas), also known as ESD protection zones. For this reason, ESD clothing is sometimes referred to as EPA clothing. By wearing ESD clothing, you and the products and machines are well protected against electrostatic charges and discharges during work.

Here you can see the conductive fibers (black lines) that are woven into the fabric of ESD T-shirts.

What makes our ESD-Clothing special

Our ESD clothing stands out due to the use of high-quality materials and unique techniques. We rely exclusively on the best quality conductive yarn, sewing thread, and other components to ensure optimal dissipation of electrostatic charges and maximize your safety. Our commitment has been proven in numerous tests. From the fabric color used to the zipper, all our components are of the highest quality.

By using unique techniques, we are able to successfully pass tests for electrostatic discharge dissipation, durability, color fastness, and more on each of our garments and across all areas of them. This also enables us to ensure quality while optimizing comfort.

Furthermore, from fabric manufacturing to shipment, every step is conducted in our own production facilities. This complete control over the entire manufacturing process allows us to uphold the highest quality standards and ensure that each product meets both our and your requirements.

In addition, our in-house production capabilities enable us to offer tailored solutions that meet your specific requirements and preferences - we manufacture the clothing you need. Our ESD clothing is renowned for its exceptional quality, durability, and longevity in all its components, making it a reliable choice for daily use in demanding environments. This ensures long-term protection and comfort.

Your safety. Our priority.

Why ESD-Protection?

ESD, short for Electro-Static, is a common phenomenon in everyday life that often goes unnoticed but can have serious consequences for electronic components. Even small discharges can irreparably damage assemblies. This risk is particularly high in areas where sensitive semiconductor components are processed, as voltages as low as 100 volts can cause component damage.

Therefore, the technology sector must implement strict measures to prevent ESD. Once charged, objects discharge at the next opportunity, potentially causing significant damage to unprotected electronics. The miniaturization of components has made them increasingly susceptible to ESD, posing a growing challenge.

ESD protection measures are essential and include, among others:

  • ESD clothing for employees and visitors
  • Conductive workstations and fixtures such as tabletops and chairs
  • ESD-safe tools and materials
  • Conductive flooring and footwear
  • Ionizers for neutralizing electrostatic charges

These measures are necessary to prevent unintended charging and ensure controlled discharge. This not only enhances product quality and operational safety but also avoids costly repair or replacement expenses that could damage a company's reputation.

Overall, protecting against electrostatic discharge is a crucial component for many businesses to ensure the safety of their employees and the reliability of their products.
